Heating element with thermostat (insulated) type GJTi/GJT series 50

Submersible heating elements with a thermostat and insulated heating element are designed to be used with electric devices for heating water in open and closed containers. These heating elements should only be installed in a system where they are always submerged below the water level. The insulation of the heating elements is achieved by mounting them in a ceramic insulator separated from the head entirely made of brass, including the thread.

The insulation is applied to eliminate the galvanic connection between the heating elements and the tank.

When a galvanic connection is established between a metal with a negative potential (the material from which the tank’s casing is made) and a noble metal with a positive potential (the material from which the heating element of the heater is made), a galvanic cell is created. This cell accelerates the dissolution of the magnesium anode, with magnesium from the anode depositing on the heating elements, while the tank casing corrodes.

This solution optimally protects the heating element in the heater and the tank from accelerated electrochemical corrosion while maintaining the cathodic protection of the tank and extending the lifespan of the magnesium anode.

  • Heaters are constructed from tubular heating elements powered by single-phase current with a voltage of 230V.
  • The thermostat with stepless temperature adjustment and non-self-resetting temperature limiter protects the tank and heating element from overheating.
  • Temperature adjustment up to 75°C
  • The automatic shutdown of the heater is controlled by the thermostat, and in case of its malfunction, an involuntary temperature limiter will activate at a water temperature of 87°C ±7°C.
  • The lid features a thermostat control knob and a light indicating the operation of the heater.
  • Threaded connection G 1 ¼” or G 1 ½”
  • Ingress Protection rating: IP44
  • Power connection: 3-wire cable terminated with a plug
