With the growing interest in smart home devices, SELFA announces today the launch of its latest product – SELFA SMART HEATER. Water heater elements controlled by an app on your phone via Wi-Fi. This new technology promises to revolutionize the way we control the temperature in our homes.

The new heater, named SELFA SMART HEATER, allows users to remotely manage the water temperature in boilers or buffers using a dedicated smartphone app. This means you can adjust the heat even when you’re away from home, contributing not only to convenience but also energy savings.

Smart functions:

One of the key features of this innovative heater is its ability to learn. Using artificial intelligence technology, SELFA SMART HEATER analyzes user habits and adjusts temperature settings, providing optimal and energy-efficient use of hot water. By learning when we use water, it doesn’t heat it when we’re, for example, at work. This realistically contributes to energy savings.

Health and safety:

For us, health and safety are also paramount, which is why the SELFA SMART HEATER is equipped with sensors and a processor that monitors the water temperature even when the heater is off (in standby mode). It prevents water from freezing in the tank and stops the growth of the dangerous Legionella bacteria by heating the tank to a temperature that kills these bacteria. If you prefer a lower temperature in the tank on a daily basis (below 50°C), SELFA SMART HEATER will take care of your safety by automatically heating it to the appropriate temperature.

Corrosion protection:

The SELFA SMART HEATER provides exceptionally good protection against corrosion due to its construction material. The heater is made of highly corrosion-resistant INCOLOY 825 alloy. This is an iron-chromium-nickel-titanium-copper-molybdenum alloy. Its exceptional properties such as high resistance to crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking are maintained even under strong heating. It also withstands working in aggressively chemical environments.

An additional protection measure is the insulation of the heating element from the executive part, i.e., the heater. This solution optimally protects the heating element in the heater and the tank from accelerated electrochemical corrosion, thus extending the lifespan of the magnesium anode.

PV ready:

In the era of the popularity of photovoltaic installations, we often encounter locally increased voltage. Theoretically and very generally, increased voltage will only increase the power of our element, so a heater with a nominal power of 2000W might have, for example, 2250W. However, the problem lies in its lifespan. The surface load expressed in W/cm2 will rise to a dangerous level for water, and our heating element will degrade quickly, possibly leading to burnout or irreversible damage.

That’s why our latest product, SELFA SMART HEATER, is ready to operate in conditions where the installation is burdened with too many prosumers of electrical energy. In our SELFA SMART HEATER series heaters, the surface load remains at a safe level even at 253V in the electrical installation. This means that with a nominal voltage of 230V, these heaters will have an even longer lifespan than standard.

Additional information:

It’s worth mentioning that our heaters can be controlled through the panel on the device, without additional smart functions, via direct connection to a phone/tablet, as well as remotely through a Wi-Fi router, or from anywhere on Earth in the cloud (for example, through the cellular network).

Upon special request from our customers, and with the appropriate quantity in the order, we are able to personalize the device. This includes changing the color of the casing, adding your company’s logo, offering a dedicated application, or making heaters with AISI 316L, Cu, and Cu/various coatings.
